Bill Fisher, founding member of The Celtic Heritage Trail, a not for profit organization, relates how the project started in 2004 for the purpose of recognizing the early Irish-Scott immigrants who came to the Quad Cities and settled in seven neighborhoods of Davenport,Iowa. The Celtic Cross, designed by Fisher and Joe Nobiling--also a board member--is located on St. Ambrose University's campus northeast of Christ Chapel.
